History
Good Source was originally founded in 1989 to market surplus food to relief organizations, food banks and correctional institutions throughout the United States.
Less than a decade later, in 1996, Good Source acquired Northwest Distribution, a member of the FAB Buying Group and well established distribution facility in Emmet, Idaho. Northwest has a strong background in schools and commodity processing and distribution.
In 2002, Good Source acquired Harvest Farms, a HACCP certified, USDA inspected manufacturing facility in Lancaster, CA.
These acquisitions assisted in the further expansion of Good Source products into the schools sector and beyond.
Over the years, Good Source has established and maintained strong relationships with over 500 leading food manufacturers worldwide. These relationships have evolved into a complete menu-ready line for Good Source, which includes made-to-order products complemented by Special Buys®.
Today, Good Source continues to provide money-saving food options to budget sensitive institutions including corrections, schools, higher education, charitable organizations and other alternative markets throughout the world.
