Focus will be to work with the Bid Department to source/secure cost-effective products to maximize bid opportunities. Must be able to identify and secure suppliers based on price, quality and need, to specifically support the bids department. Also demonstrate a technical knowledge base of commodities. Competent in verbal communication, analysis, reporting, demonstration of products attributes and general business etiquette related to the topic of food products and the food industry. Provide analysis of price proposals, and other information to determine reasonable pricing (to negotiate the best deal possible – highest quality at the lowest cost.) Attend meetings, trade shows and conferences to learn about new industry trends and make contact with suppliers. Work with clients to develop specific product specifications to support bids using Good Source items.
H.S. degree or Equivalent. Minimum of Two years working in procurement in the food Industry working with suppliers. Knowledge of the food industry and bid processes required.
Experience working in Procurement for an established Restaurant Chain, Casino and/or Food Distributor working with local and regional suppliers.
